American President, Barack Obama will be attending this year’s Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) holding in Kenya.
This announcement was made by the White House indicating that the Kenyan Government will be co-hosting the event in July.
“President Obama will travel to Kenya in July, where he will hold bilateral meetings and participate in the GES,” US Press Secretary, Josh Earnest said in a news release. “ His trip will build on the success of the August 2014 U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit and continue our efforts to work with countries in sub-Saharan Africa, including Kenya, to accelerate economic growth, strengthen democratic institutions, and improve security.”
The GES is a forum that connects emerging entrepreneurs with international organizations, governments and business leaders. Initiated in 2009, this will be the first time the GES will hold in sub-Saharan Africa.
