Netherland-based advisory and research board, HiiL Innovating justice (HiiL) is accepting entries for the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) Empowerment Innovation Challenge, East and West Africa.
Winners of the SME empowerment innovation challenge can take home up to $70,000 in seed funding.
The SMEs empowerment innovation challenge aims to support new initiatives that can empower startups and SMEs in Africa. The innovation challenge will unlock the potentials of East and West African SMEs by empowering governance and justice innovations, the organization said.
“The obstacles to setting up, and scaling up SMEs can be found around the developing world, but in some regions, the potential for progress is particularly striking,” HiiL says on its websites. “The potential in East and West Africa definitely warrants closer attention; Nigeria is a case in point.”
An online campaign will begin from September 1 to 17 2015 and top three innovations will be invited to the innovating justice boot camp in Lagos. The competition is organised in conjunction with the Global Agenda Council on Justice and the Ford Foundation.
Deadline for the submission of entries is August 1, 2015. Apply here.
