Cape Town-based Asimmetric becomes the first South African startup to get into Highway1, the hardware accelerator program located in San Francisco, after it was selected to join 13 other startups at the accelerator’s Autumn program.

The South African startup produces the network monitoring product that helps to improve internet connectivity quality and is now working out of Highway1’s facility in San Francisco.

“We’re a software and analytics business, but our proprietary hardware is an important part of how we deliver our product,” says David Wilson, co-founder and CEO. “Building hardware is difficult, but having partners like Highway1 and PCH, who’ve seen it all and done it all before, eliminates a lot of risk for us.”

Highway1 is an hardware-focused accelerator – a division of PCH, a product solution company for startups. Its 16-week program allow startups work directly with a dedicated team of engineers and other professionals to improve their hardware, operations and sales.

Asimmetric is currently hiring for positions at its Cape Town office.
