  • Verizon has bought up Yahoo’s assets for $4.8 billion

Well, well, well. How have the mighty fallen. After a five-month long auction, Verizon has lapped up Yahoo’s assets for $4.83 billion. The sale excludes Yahoo’s cash, and its stake in Yahoo Japan and Alibaba. Moving forward, they’ll bundle it with AOL and “help accelerate Verizon’s revenue stream in digital advertising”. They probably should have taken Microsoft’s $44.6 billion offer back in 08. Welp.
