This is Where Andela Keeps Its Developers

Andela, a talent accelerator, is a company that essentially finds the brightest young people in Africa and gives them the training and mentorship needed to thrive as full-time developers.

In May last year, Iyin Aboyeji, former CEO of Fora and Andela Cofounder, via the startup, began recruiting software developers with little to no experience. It seemed counterintuitive at the time, but this plan has long paid off. Andela has gained in less than a year, the traction that most other startups only dream about and few can achieve in a decade.

So Andela recently opened living quarters for its resident developers, called Amity. It’s like a world of its own – with the living quarters, working stations, library and cafeteria, you have everything you need.

Andela currently has 45 fellows and counting. According to them, “We saved the average Fellow about 3 hours in commute time each day.”

Andela Documentarian, Mohini Ufeli, graciously shared these pictures with us. Let’s go there!

The place looks neat – if I do say so myself. More and more people are applying to Andela.co, because their style of recruitment is unheard of. Now they have this – as if job seekers need any more incentive to jump on the Andela wagon.
