    Two big funding news out of Africa today; the bitcoin startup, BitX has secured $4million dollars in a Series A funding round led by Naspers. In similar development, Nigeria-based mobile payments company, Simplepay has also been juiced up with new funding from Nigeria’s Bank of Industry.

    BitX Gets $4 million in Series A Funding
    Bitcoin startup, BitX has secured $4million Series A funding round led by South Africa-based Naspers.

    SimplePay Receives Funding from Nigeria’s BOI
    Lagos-based Payments startup, SimplePay has raised new funding from Nigeria’s Bank of Industry in deal that will see the CEO of BOI, Olaoluwa Rasheed join the company’s board.

    DEMO Africa announces List of Finalist for its September Event
    DEMO Africa has announces the names of 30 African startups that will pitch at DEMO Africa 2015 event in Lagos this September.
