Hong Kong-based insurance company, AIA, has begun accepting applications from African startups into its AIA accelerator programme.

The AIA accelerator, supported by startup incubator, NEST, is a 12-week accelerator programme. Disrupt Africa reports that it is aimed at supporting novel business ideas in the area of healthcare.

Eight successful startups, who specialize in health tech and (or) wearable businesses will be invited to Hong Kong for the 12 week programme.

“Leveraging both the Nest and AIA networks, participants will benefit from the knowledge and expertise of key industry leaders and renowned entrepreneurs. Furthermore, mentors can offer access to a wider network of contacts that could significantly accelerate a company’s development in just 12 weeks,” AIA said on its website.
